Samsung Merajai Pasar Smartphone Amerika

Ambisi Samsung untuk menguasai pangsa pasar smartphone di Amerika Serikat (AS) semakin langgeng. Vendor asal Korea Selatan itu berhasil meningkatkan pangsa pasar smartphone-nya di AS. Lembaga riset comScore, melakukan penelitian dari bulan September hingga November 2011 di AS. Menurut survei itu, ada 234 juta orang pengguna smartphone yang berusia 13 tahun ke atas. Hasil riset menempatkan Samsung sebagai produsen paling populer, diikuti LG, Motorola, Apple dan Research In Motion (RIM).

Dari 5 produsen tersebut, hanya Samsung dan Apple yang berhasil meningkatkan pang pasar pada periode September sampai November 2011. Pangsa pasar Samsung naik 0.3 persen menjadi 25,6 persen (persentase terhadap angka pelanggan layanan mobile). Sementara Apple, yang menempati posisi 4 memperoleh pangsa pasar 11,2 persen, atau naik 1,4 persen jika dibandingkan bulan Agustus 2011 lalu.

LG dan Motorola berada di peringkat 2 dan 3 dengan pasar 21 persen dan 14 persen. Penjualan LG dan Motorola ini mengalami penurunan, masing-masing 0.5 persen dan 0.3 persen. Sementara RIM sebagai produsen BlackBerry, bercokol di posisi 5 dengan pangsa pasar 6.5 persen. RIM kehilangan 0.6 persen pangsa pasar, jika dibandingkan Agustus 2011.

Awal Desember 2011, Samsung telah menyatakan bahwa mereka berhasil menjual lebih dari 300 juta perangkat mobile di 2011. Prestasi ini sekaligus mencatat rekor baru dalam sejarah perusahaan Samsung.

Samsung Galaxy Xcover (Specifications), Smartphone Tahan Segala Cuaca

Berita Gadget - Samsung Galaxy Xcover, namanya mulai muncul di dunia maya, terutama dari para penggila gadget terbaru. Rumors yang berkembang, Samsung Galaxy Xcover merupakan Smartphone terbaru yang akan dikeluarkan oleh Samsung Mobile. Android ini kabarnya mampu tahan terhadap cuaca berat, di lumpur, tahan di dalam air hingga 1 Meter, apalagi hanya debu. Galaxy Xcover akan menawarkan Android 2.3 Gingerbread, dan fitur layar anti gores 3.6 inci, kamera 3,2 megapiksel dengan LED flash, dan HSDPA 7.2 Mbps.

Tentang spesifikasi detilnya masih belum banyak di dapat. Kabarnya Jerman dan Ukraina adalah negara pertama yang akan disambangi gadget canggih dan "bandel" dari Samsung ini pada bulan Oktober 2011.

Samsung i5510 Segera Beredar (Rumors).

BERITA GADGET - Ajang IFA 2010 sudah berakhir. Ada kabar menarik datang dari Samsung, yaitu adanya gambar hanphone baru yang mirip dengan Corby. Samsung i5510 itulah rumorsnya. Produk baru dari Samsung ini segera akan ikut meramaikan pasar handphone ber-android.



Kabarnya, Samsung i5510 (yang merupakan seri Galaxy) ini akan dibenamkan OS Android 2.2 Froyo, yaitu Android 2.2 versi terbaru dari Sistem Operasi Android yang dirilis Google yang salah satu keunggulanya adalah meningkatnya performa ponsel, memakai keybord qwerty sistem Sliding. Dengan empat baris slide-out QWERTY keyboard dan merupakan handphone android pertama Samsung di pasar Eropa.

Samsung i5510 sudah dilengkapi dengan kamera 5MP, HSPA, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi, dan slot MicroSD dan rencananya akan diluncurkan secara eksklusif oleh Vodafone, dengan kisaran harga 200 Euro.

Belum ada kepastian kapan tepatnya Samsung i5510 akan di keluarkan, yang jelas, nampaknya Samsung juga tidak mau kalah dengan para kompetitor handphone ber-android yang sudah mengeluarkan produk andalanya masing-masing.

The news about the successor Samsung S Galaxy blows on the market. yes, the Samsung i9200 S2 Galaxy will reportedly appear. US Smartphones Attacked by Samsung

Berita Gadget - Samsung today launched a full assault on the US smartphone market by unveiling three versions of the Galaxy S. The Epic 4G for Dash is the most one-of-a-kind and makes use of that carrier's WiMAX speeds much like the Evo 4G, it can share its connection as Wi-Fi hotspot and brandishes a front-facing video camera for chat. A sliding QWERTY keyboard makes it one-of-a-kind among all the US launches.

The historicallyin the past teased T-Mobile Vibrant more closely follows the formula and makes use of a touch-only design with 7.2Mbps, HSPA-based 3G. T-Mobile focuses on bundles in lieu and gives the phone a replica of the film Avatar on a 2GB microSD card and a month of free GoGo in-air Wi-Fi and preloaded copies of Amazon Kindle for Android, MobiTV and Slacker Radio.

Verizon has also teased early designs of the Fascinate, an EVDO-based 3G version of Samsung's phone, and US Cellular has also signaled its intentions to produce a similar version. Neither has said how theirs will differentiate from one another.



All of the rings will have the same core four-inch Tremendous AMOLED screen, which purportedly has 100 times the contrast of any rival display but is still viewable outside. They also share Samsung's custom, quick 1GHz Humminbird processor, a rear 5 MP camera with 720p video recording and 802.11n Wi-Fi with DLNA media sharing. Every version runs Android 2.1 with a custom-made UI that adds a Swype keyboard; Android 2.2 is due in the "near future," Dash said, but when that will come wasn't mentioned. Not one of the variants will support Flash out of the box as a result.



Launch details are also unknown for all but the Vibrant, which will ship on July 21 for $200 on contract. AT&T has already previewed its version of the Galaxy S, the Captivate, but has not firmed up its launch details.



The campaign marks a major return to the American smartphone arena for Samsung. While it's the top spot in overall phone share in the US, it's virtually fallen out of the smartphone section as Apple, HTC, Motorola and RIM dominate. With few exceptions, virtually all of Samsung's US smartphones have been Windows Mobile-based devices that have failed to get traction. Android also gets a push as the Galaxy S is the first Google-based phone in the US to keep away from being locked in to a carrier exclusive.

Samsung Slips Out Compact C20UN Camcorder

BERITA GADGET - Samsung has quietly released a new camcorder with its entry-level SMX-C20UN. The most visible interesting feature is its angled lens, which as on a handful of earlier cameras is tilted 25 degrees off the horizontal axis with the camera's own body. This, Samsung says, is to make holding it more comfortable by reducing stress on the operator's wrist.



 

The camera records still and moving images onto SDHC memory cards and has no internal storage of its own. It records in the H.264 video format and uses a 1/6-inch, 680K CCD sensor along with a 10X optical zoom lens. Users frame or review their videos and images using the 2.7-inch flip-out LCD.

A quick transfer feature lets users upload content directly onto their YouTube or Flickr accounts. There is also the ability to perform time lapse recording, so users can film a growing flower or other time-consuming event without being present for it.

Samsung Galaxy S Segera Hadir di Indonesia

Berita Gadget - Sebagai suksesor Galaxy Spica, ponsel ini diklaim lebih hebat dengan layar Super AMOLED. Penjualan Samsung Galaxy Spica diklaim meningkat oleh Samsung Mobile Indonesia dalam kurun waktu dua bulan terakhir. Merasa optimis dengan perilaku pasar, Samsung segera memboyong suksesor Galaxy Spica, yaitu Samsung I9000 Galaxy S.

Hal ini diungkapkan Hioe Ankin, Head Mobile Departement PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia, saat diwawancarai VIVAnews di Jakarta, Rabu 31 Maret 2010. "Ada yang lebih hebat dari Samsung Galaxy Spica, namanya Galaxy S," kata Ankin yakin. "Ini adalah produk super dan versi premium dari Galaxy Spica," jelasnya.

Galaxy S, yang telah mengoperasikan sistem operasi Android v2.1 (Cupcake) dilengkapi dengan layar touchscreen capacitive Super AMOLED berukuran 4 inci yang lebih detail dan tajam dari AMOLED biasa. Dengan resolusi 480x800 piksel, pengguna akan lebih nyaman menyentuh tiap bagian layar besarnya dengan teknologi multi-touch.



Selain memiliki kamera 5 MP autofocus (2592x1944 piksel), ponsel pintar berdimensi 12,2 x 6,4 x 1 cm dengan bobot 118 gram ini didukung konektivitas 3G HSDPA 7,2 Mbps dan 3G HSUPA 5,76 Mbps. Sebagai alternatif, Samsung juga menyediakan koneksi EDGE class 12, GPRS class 12, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 A2DP, dan microUSB 2.0.



Di samping itu, Samsung I9000, yang sudah mendukung video HD, mempunyai storage internal berkapasitas 8GB atau 16GB, dan bisa ditingkatkan hingga 32GB dengan microSD. Tak ingin performanya mengecewakan, Samsung pun menyematkan prosesor berkekuatan 1GHz, 200 MHz lebih besar dibandingkan Galaxy Spica.



"Di Amerika Serikat, Galaxy S baru saja beredar. Diluncurkan di sana terlebih dulu karena memang AS merupakan salah satu pasar terbesar bagi Samsung Mobile," jelas Ankin. "Nanti, beberapa saat lagi menyusul di Eropa."



Galaxy S kemungkinan akan mendarat di Eropa sekitar bulan Mei, tak jauh dari jadwal peluncuran Samsung Wave. Namun, belum diketahui pasti berapa kisaran harganya nanti. Menurut rumor, Galaxy S akan dipatok sekitar US$ 600-700 atau setara Rp 5,4 juta hingga Rp 6,4 juta.



Di Indonesia, Ankin mengatakan, Samsung Mobile berencana memboyongnya sekitar bulan Mei-Juni mendatang. Tapi, dia enggan menuturkan berapa harga yang akan dibanderol pada Galaxy S nantinya. "Tunggu saja tanggal mainnya. Mungkin sekitar pertengahan atau akhir kuartal kedua," ucapnya.
